About Kasia
I teach the Polish that people actually use
I'm Kasia, a qualified teacher with a literature scholar's love of the language and eighteen years of helping students speak it. Here is how I ended up teaching Polish in England, and what my lessons are actually like.
I grew up with Polish as my first language and spent years studying it properly: a Master's in Polish Literature and Language at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, a second Master's in History of Art, and doctoral research in Polish literature. Along the way I worked alongside academics, presented conference papers and helped prepare books for publication. Then I moved to England, qualified as a teacher here, and discovered the work I love most: sitting across from one person and helping the language click for them.
That academic background matters less for the certificates and more for what it does in a lesson. When you ask me why Polish does something strange, I can usually tell you, and the story behind a word or a case ending is often exactly what makes it stick.
My method is simple to describe. We build sentences from the first lesson, real ones, about your life, and add new words gradually, reusing them until they stop feeling new. Grammar arrives when it helps you say something more accurately, never as a lecture.
The more you learn, the more you will remember, and the learning process will become easier and quicker. I call it the snowball effect learning.
I teach complete beginners, partners of Polish speakers, heritage children and teenagers, GCSE and A-Level students, and advanced learners who want precision and style. Lessons are planned thoroughly, but the boring bits are removed: no vocabulary cramming, no tedious homework, no grammar for its own sake.
What students notice
Warm lessons, clear structure, real confidence
With Kat, it doesn't feel like you're learning from a scary teacher, it feels more like you're learning from one of your friends who just happens to be awesome at speaking a bunch of different languages.
