Kat’s process to learning is something I have really been able to engage with. Having had various polish lessons throughout my childhood, none of those lessons have made me understand the Polish language as much as Kat’s has. I highly recommend her and grateful for our continued lessons.

Katarzyna is an excellent Polish teacher.

Lessons are built around a series of short translations from English into Polish, which in my experience as a language teacher too is the best way to develop confidence in using and speaking a new language (which tends to be much better than working through a textbook together, or working through a series of small activities). 

Katarzyna has an expert knowledge of grammar, and can break concepts down very clearly and manageably, while including relevant cultural and historical information, which helps it stick. Lessons are fast-paced, but Katarzyna can also slow down with particularly difficult sections. She also has an excellent teaching manner – she is very encouraging, lessons are funny, and she’s good at correcting mistakes. I’ve definitely noticed a significant improvement in my Polish, particularly in putting sentences together – the grammar focus has given me a stronger foundation in knowing what goes where, and in self-correcting while speaking.

In conclusion Katarzyna is one of the best I’ve ever had for languages – I would wholeheartedly recommend her lessons!

Before I started having lessons with Kat, I thought I just wasn’t suited to learning languages, especially Polish. Kat has skillfully demolished that belief after only four lessons. She knows exactly how to structure her lessons to bring out the best in her students, and creates a relaxed atmosphere which makes learning really easy and enjoyable.

Kat’s lessons emphasise sentence construction over grammatical rules. This gets you thinking practically in the language itself, and really builds you up quickly. The grammar (which is nobody’s favourite part of a language) is subtly introduced whenever it’s needed rather than overwhelming you from the outset.

I’m incredibly happy with my progress so far, in terms of the sentences I’m now able to construct in Polish but also in terms of my own confidence when talking to Polish family and coworkers. I wish I could demonstrate the difference in my confidence levels before and after I started having lessons with Kat, because I think that would be the best recommendation I could possibly give her.

I strongly encourage anyone who wants to learn Polish to book some lessons with Kat!

Kat is truly a phenomenal tutor. She tailors her tutoring to your needs. If you want to know all the grammatical structure and phrases related to sharks in Polish, she will teach you all the grammatical structure and phrases related to sharks in Polish. This allows for her students to make quick headway in their learning experience and to pick up the language competently and efficiently.

Her lessons are an excellent mix of enjoyable and challenging. Anyone learning a language from scratch will know that it is difficult and if you’re not doing it for a purpose or you’re not finding it at least a bit entertaining, you are likely going to be dissuaded from learning and possibly give up. With Kat this just isn’t the case, her lessons are engaging and challenging and make you work with the knowledge you’ve been taught thus far to formulate more complex phrases and sentences. These phrases then get expanded upon more and more and more. Students get a strong sense of satisfaction when you get things correct and Kat capitalises on this. 

She also gets to know her students well. I didn’t necessarily like my language teachers at school and didn’t enjoy learning from them. With Kat, it doesn’t feel like you’re learning from a scary teacher, it feels more like you’re learning from one of your friends who just happens to be awesome at speaking a bunch of different languages. 

Overall I can’t recommend Kat enough, she is an immense teacher who will get you where you need to be with your language of choice. If you’re going to use a language tutor, look no further than Kat.
